The European Convention Bureau

Notre raison d'Ítre.

We the undersigned, have today launched the European Convention Bureau as a non-profit NGO to attract new meetings, incentives, exhibitions conventions and other events (MICE) into Great Britain and Mainland Europe.

To act as an umbrella organization for all the European National Convention Bureaux, so we can speak with one strong voice to national, regional and European legislators on issues affecting tourism and business tourism.

To bring together the directors of all the National European Convention Bureaux and Tourist Boards twice every year to share their knowledge and pool their resources for the betterment of European MICE business throughout the Continent.

This will be achieved through stands at MICE exhibitions, running our own events, launching a site on the Internet, publications and other activities.

The project is to be funded from members subscriptions and voluntary donations.

David Aherne, for the European Convention Bureau.
Peter Glover for the British Tourist Authority and
Helmut Zeidler from of the German National Tourist Board.
